Using the Library Search

This guide includes information and instructions on using the library's new catalog.

Placing an I-Share Request

Triton College Library is a member of a group called I-Share, which includes 90+ other libraries throughout the state of Illinois. I-Share libraries have all agreed to share materials with one another, giving students, faculty, and staff access to additional materials.

This tool is especially useful when Triton College Library items are checked out or if they fall outside of the scope of our resources. This page will cover searching and requesting items from other I-Share institutions. NOTE: For Fall 2020, in order to maintain safety standards, expect 8-10 days for I-Share items to arrive for pick up.

To search for a book in I-Share, use the search bar on the library home page or the I-Share link located on the "Find Books" tab.

Find the record for the book you want to request and click on it. You must be logged in to your library account to request an I-Share book.

  1.  On the record page, scroll to the "How to Get It" section and click on I-Share.
  2.  A request form will appear.
    • You can add comments or a not needed after date
  3. Click on Submit.
  4. A green box will appear in place of the request form if your I-Share request was successfully completed.

Currently, you can only pick up I-Share books at the Triton College Library.

You can check the status of your request in your library account. You will also be notified via your Triton College email address when the request is placed and when it is ready for pick up at the Triton College Library's Information Desk.
