Accessing Online Library Resources

What is OpenAthens?

OpenAthens is the tool that lets Triton College Library users access resources, such as databases, journals, and ebooks, using a triton.edu email address and password. Since our e-resources are only licensed for Triton students, faculty, and staff, OpenAthens is the tool the Triton Library uses to verify that someone is an authorized library user.

How does OpenAthens work?

Authentication from off-campus is simple. Start from the Triton College Library homepage and find an online resource you want to use. When you click on the link, you will be taken to the OpenAthens login page. Select "Login with a Triton account" and enter your triton.edu email address and password. You will be authenticated through OpenAthens and able to access library resources online. You will usually only have to log in once per browser session.
