Mango Languages: What is it?

Mango Languages prepares language learners for realistic conversations and strengthens everyday communication skills in over 70 world languages, including English. The language settings can be adjusted so you can study English in your native tongue. You can switch between languages anytime and learn multiple languages at once. Mango Languages is compatible with laptops, desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

Create An Account with Mango Languages (English)

How Do I Create an Account? (Click the side arrows to navigate the steps.)

To access Mango Languages, you start off on the Library website homepage. Towards the bottom middle of the page, you will see the Resources boxes and the Databases by Subject link.

Select the letter "M" at the top of the database index page. Mango Languages will be the top choice. Click the Mango Languages link to take you to the database. You can also click this image to visit the Mango Languages database.

Once there, you will see a login screen. There are two options for logging into Mango Languages.

1) Click "Use Mango As A Guest." By logging in as a guest, you will be able to use the platform, but you will not be able to save any progress.

2) Click "Sign Up" to create an account. If you are on-campus, you will be able to create an account using any email and password.

If you are off-campus, you will need to follow these directions to link your account to Triton College for free access.

To sign up, enter any email address and password. You will get an email shortly welcoming you to the website. You will use this login every time you access Mango Languages.

The next screen will ask you to select the language you want to learn. If you are learning English, you select English. If you are learning another language you can select something else. The default setting to learn the language is in English so even if you click Italian the course instructions will be in English.

If you clicked English as the language you want to learn you will be asked what language you speak. The website is designed to make language learning easy so it will give you course instructions in your mother tongue.

What if English is Not My First Language? (Click the side arrows to navigate the steps.)

If English is not your first language don't worry, you can change the language settings when you choose a language to your mother tongue. The course instructions will be changed to the language you pick.
