How do I request an item through I-Share?

  • Click on the "login" button on the top right of the Triton College catalog or I-Share catalog homepage. You will be asked for the 17-digit barcode number on your Triton ID and last name. (If you do not have your Triton ID handy, you can look up your barcode information in your MyTriton Portal account.) Search for and select the item you are interested in, and hit the "Request Item" link from any school at which the item is available. The "Pick Up Location" will default to Triton College Library, but you can change this if you wish to pick up the item elsewhere. If you encounter any issues, please contact a staff member for help.

How do I renew a book?

  • Click on the "login" button on the top right of the Triton College catalog or I-Share catalog homepage. You will be asked for the 17-digit barcode number on your Triton ID and last name. (If you do not have your Triton ID handy, you can look up your barcode information in your MyTriton Portal account.) Under "Your Account," click on "Checked Out Items." Select the items you wish to renew and click on the "Renew Selected Items" or "Renew All Items" buttons at the top of the list. Overdue items may not be renewed. 

How do I find my textbook in the Library?

  • Although the Library does not have a copy of every textbook on campus, we do have quite a few! You can check if the Library has a copy of your textbook on reserve by visiting the Course Reserves page, which lists all of our available textbooks alphabetically by title. Textbooks on course reserve can be used in the Library with a student ID. 

How do I access databases and eresources remotely?

  • To log-in to eresources from off-campus, enter your MyTriton Portal username and password.

  • Your username is your first name + last name (or whatever has been assigned to you) without @triton.eduFor example, Jane Smith would be janesmith. Further instructions are available on the MyTriton Portal page

How do I print?

  • Current students need their Triton ID to print and will log in to the printing system using their MyTriton Portal username and password. New student ID cards may be obtained at the Triton College Welcome Center located in the B Building.

  • Other library patrons can print and copy using a guest card, available for purchase at the Cashier's Office located in the B Building.

How do I borrow a laptop or other loanable technology?

  • The Library offers digital cameras, external DVD drives, headsets, laptops, voice recorders, and web cameras for a 7-day loan and offers laptop and mobile phone chargers for in-house use. You may print from laptops to the Library printers using your Triton ID card. Please visit the Circulation Desk to check out loanable technology.

How do I reserve a group study room?

  • Group study rooms are available for use by two or more students to study or work collaboratively.  Rooms can be reserved up to one week in advance by calling the Circulation Desk at 708-456-0300 ext. 3215.

How do I check out a book?

  • Books from the main collection may be checked out at the Circulation Desk by Triton employees, students, and community members. Triton faculty and students need to show their ID cards to check out a book. Community members may check out up to three books using a valid, in-district public library card.

How do I obtain my free digital subscription to the New York Times?

  • To register, navigate to, search for and select "Triton College," and create an account using your email address.

How do I create a PrepSTEP account?

  • Register using a username and password of your choice. You do not need to use your email address. 

How do I register for Mango Languages?

  • You may use Mango as a guest. If you wish to create an account, navigate to the Mango site and create a username and password. You do not need to use your email address.
