Triton College Library Website: How Do I?

How Do I?

The Triton College Library is open to our campus community for the semester. Please review the content below for updated information on the library's space, resources, and services this semester.

How do I contact librarians for research help?

  • Librarians are available to support students and faculty during the library's operating hours. Students and faculty can contact librarians via the library's live chat or email at librarians@triton.edu.
  • Students are encouraged to schedule a research appointment for more in-depth support.

How do I access databases and eresources remotely?

  • Off-campus access to eresources is always available! Login to the library's databases at home using your Triton email address and password. Further instructions are available on the MyTriton Portal page

How do I print?

  • Current students need their Triton ID to print and will log in to the printing system using their MyTriton Portal username and password. New student ID cards may be obtained at the Triton College Welcome Center located in the B Building.

  • Other library patrons can print and copy using a guest card, available for purchase at the Cashier's Office located in the B Building.

How do I borrow a laptop or other loanable technology?

  • The Library offers laptops, mobile hotspots, and webcams, along with a variety of other loanable technology, for semester-long loans. The Library also offers laptop and mobile phone chargers for in-library use.

  • Loanable technology will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Enrolled students interested in borrowing loanable technology should bring their Triton student ID or a state-issued ID to the library's Information Desk.

How do I reserve a study room?

  • Study rooms are available to reserve. To book a study room visit the Service Desk or contact them at circulation@triton.edu or ext. 3215 to reserve a room. The library is not currently allowing online reservations. Please review our Study Room policies page before booking a study room. The document can be found at the bottom of this page.

How do I check out a book?

  • Books from the main collection may be checked out at the Information Desk by Triton employees, students, and community members. Triton faculty and students need to show their ID cards to check out a book. Community members may check out up to three books using a valid, in-district public library card.

As a faculty member, how do I request library instruction for my class this semester?

  • Librarians are committed to continuing to support students' research in both in-person and online learning environments. We are teaching live library instruction in person and via Blackboard Collaborate this semester. If you are interested in scheduling library instruction for your class, please fill out the Schedule Library Instruction form. We look forward to talking through how we can best support your students.
