An introduction to the research process and the library's resources.

Searching for Books at Triton

To find books at the Triton College Library, go to the Library's website, library.triton.edu. Click on the tab "Find Books."

Click on the link for Triton College Catalog.

You can search for books by: keyword, a specific title, a specific author, subject heading, etc.

Type your search term in the search box and then click "Find." Notice the number of results your search produces. Your results are automatically sorted by relevance, but you may also sort them by "newest first," etc.

Click on the title to view information about the book. The catalog record contains important citation information about the book and how to access it.

Make sure to review the call number (the number on the spine of the book that indicates the location in the library) and the status of the book (whether or not the book is available for you to check out). Checking the status of the book and writing down the call number are essential in order to locate the book on the shelves.

If the book is available, write down the call number, retrieve your book from the stacks, and check it out with your Triton ID at the library's Information Desk.

You can also click on the "Request" button to place a hold. You will receive an email in your triton.edu email account when the book is ready to be picked up at the library's Information Desk. Don't forget your Triton ID!
