LGBTQ Resources

This guide is intended to serve as an introduction to resources focusing on LGBTQ studies, as well as information that may be helpful to the Triton College community of students, faculty, and staff working to build a more inclusive community college environment.

LGBTQ – the acronym used to describe Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning Studies, may be followed by an I (Intersex) or A (asexual). It is an interdisciplinary field of study, so related information may be found in resources from a broad array of subject areas (psychology, sociology, business, and science, to name a few).

UCDavis' Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual Resource Center has a concise glossary and pronouns listing that may be helpful in determining search criteria.

The following list of LGBTQ-related Subject Headings may be used to build subject and keyword searches in the Triton College Catalog, the I-Share catalog, or across media to expand or narrow your search results. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please contact a Triton librarian.
